Who We Are
Ethereal Winds Independent (EWI) is an indoor winds marching and performing arts ensemble under Sun City Musical Arts, an organization created to provide young musicians the opportunity to perform at the highest level. EWI competes in the Independent A Class in Winter Guard International (WGI) Sport of the Arts. EWI made its debut season in 2023 and was the first of its kind in El Paso, Texas. In its first season, Ethereal traveled to WGI Championships in Dayton, OH and placed third in its class! This past season, EWI competed in the same class and received first place! This group is still the only independent winds group in the Southwest region for the next 500 miles. Since its inception, Ethereal has made history and will continue to do so.
Our organization runs solely off of membership dues, fundraisers, and contributions from generous donors, both private and commercial. We are only able to function through the dedication of our membership, the assistance from volunteers, and the overall support from the community.
