Matthew Hernandez is a Texas native who began his music career in San Angelo Texas. Matthew attended Angelo State University where he was actively involved with the music program where he performed in various chamber ensembles, the ASU Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Basketball Band, and Marching band while also making guest appearances in local churches and community performances. Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2023 and is now working as the Middle School Director/Assistant HS director at Merkel ISD.

Other notable works include being an assistant marching clinician/marching tech in the West Texas area, marching Horizon DBC in 2016, and marching with the Blue Knights in 2019.

Matthew loves to spread the love of music with his students and hopes to continue to actively participate as an educator in the Marching arts.
